Run a node.
An operator pulls prices from its own market-data source, signs attestations every round, and posts collateral that is slashed for publishing outside the consensus band.
What the node needs.
| Component | Minimum |
|---|---|
| CPU | 8 dedicated cores, 3.0 GHz base or better |
| Memory | 32 GB |
| Storage | 1 TB NVMe, 3,000 IOPS sustained |
| Network | 1 Gbps symmetric, redundant uplink, static address |
| Clock | NTP-disciplined, drift under 50 ms against a stratum-1 source |
| Availability | 99.5% rolling 30-day uptime floor |
What the operator must commit.
5,000 units of the settlement asset, locked for participation with a 21-day unbonding period after exit.
An independent, contracted feed. Sharing a vendor, colocation, or upstream aggregator with another operator in the same set is a removable offence.
Operators receive tier 3 of the weekly waterfall, 30% of the remainder after the insurance fund and the buyback, distributed pro rata by in-band attestations and weighted by uptime and inverse deviation rate.
Conditions and penalties.
| Condition | Penalty |
|---|---|
| Attestation outside the consensus band | 0.5% of posted collateral |
| Three deviations in a rolling hour | 2% and probation |
| Uptime below the 99.5% floor | Forfeiture of that week's operator rewards |
| Signing through a detected halt | 5% of posted collateral |
| Provable market-data source sharing | Full collateral and removal from the set |
Slashed collateral is routed to the insurance fund. No operator receives another operator’s slashed collateral, so there is no incentive to push a peer out of band.
